Basement Waterproofing
The Problem
Walls and floors below ground level are liable to varying degrees of water penetration.
The Solution
Hydrostatic pressure will force water into the property at another point, if the "tanking" is not complete and up to damp course level. The cost of useable floor space in inner-city areas is very high, so use should be made of all available and accessible areas. Below ground areas can be made into useable living space. Basement areas can be used as storage rooms, releasing other areas for use as sales floors. Damp basement areas, unused, sealed off and inadequately ventilated often cause problems such as dry/wet rot which can spread to other parts of the property.
Over the years great progress has been made in developing methods to combat the problems associated with moisture or water penetration from high external ground levels.
